Professor Valori is a benefactor of Yeshiva University, an eminent economist of Italy, and a man held in high esteem by the Italian Jewish Community. Professor Valori, the recipient of 11 Honorary Doctorates from universities around the world, established a lecture series and research funds to benefit Yeshiva University. He gave this gift in memory of his mother, Emilia Valori.
YU’s relationship with Italy and the Italian Jewish Community is expanding. Beyond it’s work with the Primo Levi Institute, Stern College sent 15 honors students for a 2-week course in Florence, Italy last year. This summer, Yeshiva College plans to send 15 honors students to Italy. The YU Museum is now considering an impressive exhibition from Israel on the complete history of Italian Jewry. The President of Yeshiva will be hosting a Shabbat in Rome with friends of YU in late June, prior to a tour of Mediterranean cities.
