During the weeks of October 25, 2009, November 1, 2009 and November 8, 2009 (from October 25, 2009 to November 14, 2009) significant news items pertaining to the oncology sector were reported including:

1. Spectrum Pharmaceuticals (SPPI, Market Outperform) reported that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services finalized a policy to allow reimbursement for Zevalin based on the Average Sales Price (ASP) methodology;

2. Æterna Zentaris (AEZS, Market Outperform) reported positive efficacy data from a Phase 2 study evaluating AEZS 108 in patients with platinum-resistant and taxane-pretreated ovarian cancer, and separately reported publication of an article supporting perifosine for the treatment of cancer;
